Sports Health Community Outreach

Sports Health: Community Outreach

In addition to providing emergency medical coverage of sporting events and practices within our communities, the sports health team helps promote children moving and playing sports.

We are committed to combating childhood obesity by adopting schools and programs in the community to help organize events that are fun for children and promote a healthy, active lifestyle. These events include demonstrations in our kitchen, nutrition demonstrations at schools and after-school programs, assisting with field days and organizing recess, educating our educators on appropriate warm-ups and activities for movement, relaxation and focus.

We have also teamed up with multiple high schools and middle schools to provide Mini-Combine testing, much like the events that happen for the NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA; we set up scenarios that are fun for athletes to participate in and try to be their best selves.

Other community outreach partnerships include helping with summer camps, strength and conditioning camps and partnerships with the Connecticut Science Center.
