The Memory Care Center in Wethersfield is part of the Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute.
Our team is comprised of specialists that include medical professionals from neurology, geriatric psychiatry, clinical social work and neuropsychology. These experts meet regularly to discuss cases and generate ideas that will produce the best outcome for patients.
The Memory Care Center provides consultations for people who have thinking and/or memory problems. At the Memory Care Center, we are dedicated to helping people understand and adapt to thinking changes. We diagnose neurodegenerative diseases, like Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, through extensive evaluations and testing.
The Memory Care Center supports the needs of patients and care partners by listening carefully, then identifying resources to help with the many and sometimes unexpected manifestations of cognitive and memory disorders. Knowing when to stop a medication is as helpful as knowing when to start one. We are available for continued care after diagnosis.
Sometimes what is most needed is support to help frustrated and perplexed care partners learn how they can become a flexible and adaptable part of the care for their loved one.
