Behavioral Health Practitioners

Research shows that behavioral health treatments - including cognitive behavioral therapy and biofeedback - can be as effective as medication in treating headache when practiced correctly, and can also make headache medication work more effectively.

Treatments typically include relaxation training, learning about and managing headache triggers, stress management and treating comorbid conditions such as depression, anxiety or sleep difficulties. Behavioral health treatment typically involves four to 10 sessions.
