Ankle Surgery
Total ankle replacement, or ankle arthroplasty, relieves pain and maintains motion in the arthritic ankle joint. Some patients have had an ankle fusion (arthrodesis), but then the ankle can’t move normally. Total ankle replacement surgery replaces arthritic areas in the ankle joint with implants.
