Maternity

Many of our physicians hold positions of leadership in national medical societies and serve on the faculties of medical schools of such leading institutions as Dartmouth and the University of Connecticut.

Our acute care hospitals include a teaching hospital with a nationally recognized Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology sponsored by the University of Connecticut.

Our nurses are outstanding as well. Many hold specialty certifications in Inpatient Obstetrics, Maternal Newborn Nursing, Fetal Monitoring, Childbirth Education, Telephone Triage and Breastfeeding.

Our services include breastfeeding programs, childbirth and parent education (virtual and elearning), prenatal testing, newborn screening, nitrous oxide for comfort in labor, help with postpartum depression, family planning, and more.

The Hospital of Central Connecticut

It's one of the most wondrous, complex moments of life, marked by eager anticipation and excitement, yet touched by concern and apprehension. The Family BirthPlace is staffed by board-certified obstetricians, with specialists ready if needed 24 hours a day, including, on-site, board-certified anesthesiologists for pain control and perinatologists for high-risk pregnancies.

MidState Medical Center

The Maternity program at MidState Medical Center offers supportive medical consultation and access to state-of-the-art diagnostic testing for expecting mothers. Board-certified maternal-fetal medicine physicians will work closely with a mother's obstetrician to detect risk factors and coordinate care and follow her through her entire pregnancy to ensure a safe delivery for both mother and baby.
