Hartford HealthCare Earns More than 80 Awards for Excellence in Specialty Care from Healthgrades

Hartford HealthCare’s hospitals earned more than 80 Specialty and Specialty Excellence Awards according to new research released by Healthgrades. The Specialty Excellence Awards recognize superior performance in cardiac care, neurosciences, spine surgery, prostate surgeries, pulmonary and critical care.
Notably, Hartford Hospital was named as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Surgery and among America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care, Coronary Intervention and Prostate Surgery; Backus Hospital was recognized as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Gastrointestinal Care; and The Hospital of Central Connecticut was named one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Critical Care and Spine Surgery.

Each year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 21 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions. Their Specialty Excellence Awards recognize hospitals with superior performance in specific specialty lines and specialty focus areas, and indicate services where patients have a lower risk of complications.
