Rehabilitation Network Offering Virtual Health Visits
June 01, 2020
Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is now offering virtual health visits that allow you to receive care from the comfort of your home or office.
Physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech language pathologists are available to treat most diagnoses and/or conditions virtually.
Here are the conditions with services available through virtual health:
- Pelvic health.
- Low back pain and sciatica.
- Neck and shoulder pain.
- Chronic pain.
- Headaches.
- Pre- and post-op mastectomy.
- Neurological conditions (Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis).
- Distal radius fractures.
- Medial and lateral epicondylitis (tennis or golfer’s elbow).
- Carpal tunnel syndrome.
- Hand, wrist and elbow pain.
- Aphasia.
- Swallowing difficulties.
- Speech difficulties.
How To Connect To The Virtual Health Platform?
Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network has worked to simplify the process allowing our patients to click on a link on their own devices and connect with our therapists. We will provide easy to follow instructions and test the process with you before your visits.
How It Works
We send you a Zoom video link through our Epic electronic medical records system to your MyChart account. You join the video visit using your mobile device or computer at the scheduled time of the visit. Our team will assist with setting up your device and provide instructions through your MyChart account.
How To Get Started
Ask your healthcare provider if you are a candidate to receive rehabilitation services virtually. If you have health issues that prevent you from attending your healthcare appointments in person during the COVID-19 pandemic, discuss virtual health services with your healthcare provider. If you are currently receiving rehabilitation services at Hartford HealthCare, ask your therapist if you can receive your services virtually.
Are These Services Covered By Insurance?
While each insurance plan is different, many have added physical, occupational and speech therapy services to the allowable virtual health providers. This means that when there is a need for skilled therapy, many insurers will pay for the services provided through virtual health visits. Please check with your insurance to verify or call our staff to help answer your questions.
