Cardiac Catheterization - STEMI DTU
Primary unloading and Delayed Reperfusion in ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction is being conducted under the direction of Dr. Asad Rizvi and the Cardiac Cath Lab.
This trial hopes to demonstrate that left ventricular unloading with Impella and a 30 minute delay to reperfusion when compared with immediate PCI will show a reduction in infarct size and heart failure related clinical events.
Eligibility:
- Acute anterior wall myocardial infarction with chest pain onset within 1-5 hours of hospital presentation
- Must be first myocardial infarction
