A Randomized Phase III, Two-Arm Trial of Paclitaxel/Carboplatin/Maintenance Letrozole Versus Letrozole Monotherapy in Patients with Stage II-IV, Primary Low-Grade Serous Carcinoma of the Ovary or Peritoneum

Despite differences in low grade vs. high grade serous carcinoma, patients have been treated identically for both. There is a clear need to improve quality of life outcomes for those with primary, metastatic low grade serous carcinoma without compromising cancer outcomes.

Criteria:

  • Newly diagnosed, Stage II-IV low-grade serous ovarian cancer
  • Undergone a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy
  • Able to take oral medications
  • Patients with severe cardiac disease, known CNS metastases, active systemic infection, neuropathy of grade 2 or worse, and HIV infected patients with detectable viral load are NOT ELIGIBLE
