Todd J. Alekshun, MD, RPh, is a hematologist/oncologist at Hartford Hospital. He is a graduate of the St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, then completed internal medicine residency at Hartford Hospital through UConn and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of South Florida. He also holds a degree in pharmacy from UConn.
Dr. Alekshun conducts a variety of research, and served as the principal investigator on a clinical trial investigating the use of a combination of medications to condition patients with primary refractory multiple myeloma and plasma cell leukemia for blood stem cell transplants. He also served as principal investigator of a study into the use of medication treatment for high-risk patients with multiple myeloma.
He has also published in professional journals on such subjects as diseases of large granular lymphocytes, aggressive t-cell large granular lymphocyte leukemia and skeletal muscle T-cell lymphoma.
