Renee Kane is a nationally board-certified Adult Primary Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in headache diagnosis, treatment and management. She independently works in the Hartford Healthcare Headache Center Cheshire location as one of our advanced headache specialists. She believes that a holistic and multidisciplinary approach is essential for building strong relationships with patients.
She graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Thereafter she started the University of Connecticut Masters Entry Into Nursing program and worked as a registered nurse at the Hospital of Central Connecticut on a general medicine and telemetry nursing unit. Upon graduation from the University of Connecticut with her Masters in Nursing, she worked as a nurse practitioner in primary care on Cape Cod in MA.
In 2015, she joined the team at the Hartford Healthcare Headache Center. Renee has extensive expertise in the treatment and management of primary headache disorders. Renee is experienced in procedural interventions including nerve blocks, trigger point injections and Botox administration for the treatment of headache. She is a member of the multidisciplinary headache council and has been invited to lecture throughout the community regarding the treatment of migraine headache. Furthermore, she is a sub-investigator in clinical trials being conducted at the Headache Center.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and six children.
Areas of clinical interest include episodic and chronic migraine, menstrual related migraine and new daily persistent headache.
