Bio

Dr. Charlie Rutter is a radiation oncologist practicing at Hartford Hospital and the Cancer Institute office in Avon. He joined Hartford HealthCare in 2016 after finishing training in radiation oncology at Yale University. His practices focuses mainly on central nervous system malignancies, including primary brain tumors and spine and brain radiosurgery, and head and neck cancer. He is also part of team working to expand the Cancer Institute’s radiation oncology research portfolio by opening trials through the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer. He is connected with research into oligoprogression on immunotherapy. Oligoprogression is when a patient’s cancer is responding to treatment in some areas but not all. When not chasing after his two children, he enjoys mountain biking.
