This is my second surgical procedure by Dr. Wakefield. My first one was 20 years ago. The procedure average, I found on the internet, is supposed to be 10 years and my procedure lasted 20 years. Dr. Wakefield is personable, emphathetic and a highly skilled neurosurgeon. His entire office is a joy to work with. I have recommended him to my family and friends.

Dr. Wakefield and his entire staff are such a pleasure to deal with. Any concerns were addressed immediately. Office staff and PA’ s are excellent. I had ACDF done by Dr. Wakefield 4 months ago. I am on a long road to recovery, but the pain is gone after living with it for 2 years. Dr. Wakefield takes time to listen to you and spends as much time as needed with the patient. I drive a hour to seek out the best and with Dr. Wakefield, I have certainly found it. I cannot say enough about him and his staff. Highly recommended.

Board certified in neurology, Dr. Wakefield is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the University of Connecticut and has earned the Hartford Hospital Medical Staff Humanitarian Award and a 20-year award from the American Medical Association. He earned a master’s degree in pathology/immunology and a medical degree from the University of Connecticut. He completed a residency in neurosurgery at Hartford Hospital and fellowships in neurosurgery, spine, at the University of New Mexico and Cleveland Clinic.
