The Ayer Neuroscience Institute operates Stroke Centers at each Hartford HealthCare hospital, meaning you’re never too far from advanced care. In addition, our specialists are the area’s leading stroke providers, caring for one in three patients with stroke in the state.
At our centers, teams of specialists collaborate on your care from the moment you enter the emergency department through any needed rehabilitation and efforts to prevent future strokes. Being diagnosed and treated quickly means you’ll be left with few, if any, lingering effects from the stroke, which is an interruption in blood supply to the brain.
